KWIMSA – Kenya Women in Mathematical Sciences Association

AIM : To promote women in mathematics in Africa and promote mathematics among young
girls and women in Africa
OBJECTIVES: The objectives of KWIMSA are to;
- encourage African women to take up and continue their studies in mathematics
- foster international scientific communication among Kenyan women within and across fields in mathematics
- Promote equal opportunity and equal treatment of women and men in the Kenyan Mathematical community.
- increase access of Kenyan women to socio-economic benefits of mathematics.
- Increase access of Kenyan women to grants
- promote participation of KWIMSA in the development of Kenya.
- cooperate with groups and organizations with similar goals.
- promote cooperation and exchange of ideas in mathematics research and teaching of mathematics.
- stimulate communication between women in mathematics in Kenya.
- organize research seminars andcolloquia in mathematics in Kenya.
